How We Got Started

Brisbane West Endocrinology began in Lantos Place, Indooroopilly in 2015 by Dr Williamson recognising the importance of offering patients in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane and surrounding areas in South East Queensland the advantage of a localised service with easy free parking.

Dr. Margaret Williamson - Endocrinologist Brisbane

Dr. Margaret Williamson

Dr Margaret Williamson is an Endocrinologist in private practice. Originally receiving her medical qualifications in Scotland, MB, ChB, MRCP, she moved to Queensland and received her Fellowship of the Australian College of Physicians in 1981. With a strong professional interest in women’s health she began the first Menopause Clinic in a public hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and was the first Secretary of the Australian Menopause Society. She has held appointments as an Endocrinologist at both the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital and began the first Bone Clinic at Princess Alexandra Hospital. As a Senior Visiting Medical Officer there she was also involved in several drug trials in new therapies for osteoporosis.

Dr Williamson also began a Clinic for adult women with Turner’s Syndrome at Princess Alexandra Hospital, the first of its kind in Queensland.

Outside of medicine she has held a long passion for horses especially the breeding of sport horses and still loves horse riding. She is married with one daughter who has bullied her into weight training, which she now enjoys.

Dr. Matt Seymour - Endocrinologist Brisbane

Dr. Matt Seymour

Dr Matthew Seymour is an Endocrinologist and General Physician. He trained in a number of local South East Queensland hospitals including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s and Mater Hospitals and is currently a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Redcliffe Hospital. Dr Seymour has a keen interest and expertise in a number of endocrine conditions including the management of obesity, type 1 and 2 diabetes, thyroid disorders, calcium disorders, osteoporosis and hypogonadism.

Dr Seymour obtained his medical degree from The University of Queensland in 2006. Before studying medicine, he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree and was awarded a university medal from The University of Queensland. He was also awarded first class honours for his research in the field of molecular biology. He is an associate clinical lecturer with The University of Queensland.

Dr Seymour is a member of the Endocrine Society of Australia and the Australian and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society.
Outside of medicine Matthew enjoys spending time with his young family and exploring the outdoors.

Your Appointment

We accept referrals from GPs or other specialist doctors. Your first appointment generally will be for one hour. To help your appointment run smoothly we suggest you bring with you any pathology results and X-rays reports and films you may have, and arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time to allow our staff to scan these results into the computer.
